Tampa Bay Rays is a baseball team that played on the Tropicana field and is a franchise based in ST. Petersburg, Florida. It was created in 1998, since then it has a good history of games won and lost. Unlike other teams, this team started well and only a few times it came at last place since the beginning. When it was made, the team was called Tampa Bay Devil Rays and had the symbol manta ray. However, in November 2007 the owner changed its name to Tampa Bay Rays and its symbol to a ray of sunlight. He thought the previous symbol and the name did not signify anything and the name he now kept meant that the team was a ray of light that came out from the Tampa Bay and spread and enlightened the whole of Florida. You had to agree the latter name really did mean good. Anyway, even the color of the jerseys was changed from black, green and blue combination to navy blue, Columbia blue and gold.
