If we shuffle through the old pages written about the glory of this team we would conclude that the team is surely passionate to win and never gives up any chance to smash its opponents. The evolution is not abrupt but it exists even before the formation of NBA. The Lakers first introduced themselves in the year 1948 when they entered the National Basketball league. Lakers, as the franchise has a commendable list of players who all rank and deserve the Hall of Fame status and has won innumerable championships that no other franchise can even think of.
The team was blessed with Mikan who was almost a seven feet tall giant, as a centre player. This materialized through a maze of events, which made the team further strengthen its position. Actually, it was during the years 1947-48 that Maurice White, the owner of American gear Company who also owned Chicago team wanted to create a 24 team’s circuit, which would comprise all the teams to play under the Professional Basketball League of America. However, eventually the scheme did not work out properly and the players were distributed among the eleven NBL basketball franchises. It was at this time that the Laker’s got Mikan.
The history of Laker’s date as long as 1947 and has been enshrined as NBA’s best franchisee. The approximate winning percentage is almost 65% which is commendable on its own. The franchise actually began its operations when Minnesota purchased the Detroit Gems of the NBL. As Minnesota was popularly known as a land of thousand lakes the players preferred themselves to be called as Lakers. The team was then relocated to Minneapolis and from there began the journey of shaping the team, which took birth only with the equipments to be blessed with the actual stars only eventually.
